salary history ban
NYSPAC is supporting Gender Pay Gap legislation for the 18/19 Advocacy Year. Commonly referred to as the Salary History Ban, this legislation would prevent an employer from asking a potential employee to provide an accounting of their previous salary histories to determine their offer of pay. The common practice of asking for a salary history, perpetuates discrimination against women, who historically have earned less than their white male counterparts throughout their careers.
Additional legislation we’re supporting…
Separation of Children Accountability Response Act (SCAR)
Homeless Children & Youth Act
We recently supported the Children’s Victim Act, which passed on Monday, January 28th in the New York State Legislature.
